KKN Gurugram Desk | The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has released the final results for the constable recruitment , and now, the preparation for training the selected candidates has begun. A large number of constables will undergo training at the Regional Training Centers (RTCs). Given the significant number of recruits, some candidates may be sent to training centers outside the . Along with training, the examination for the successful candidates will begin soon. Only after the medical checkup will the training process commence.

The recruitment drive, which aims to hire 60,244 constables, was conducted last year, and the final results were released on March 13, 2025, as a Holi gift to the candidates. The results are available on the official website of the Recruitment Board: uppbpb.gov.in. Further details, including the dates for the medical examination, will also be provided through the website.

UP Police Recruitment Exam Result and Training Process

The final exam results for the UP Police constable recruitment were declared on March 13, 2025. This announcement comes after the written examination conducted in August 2024. Following the release of the results, the next step in the process will be the medical examination for the successful candidates.

Candidates are selected will first undergo a medical test at the police lines in their respective districts. After the medical examination, the training process will begin. Initially, the first two months of training will take place at the police lines, where the recruits will undergo basic training. This will include police procedures, law, and physical exercises.

After the two months at the police line, the recruits will move to the RTC (Regional Training Centers), where they will be trained in parade drills, weapons handling, and other specialized police tasks. Due to the large number of recruits, some of the training might also take place at training centers outside Uttar Pradesh if there is insufficient space at the RTCs within the state.

In a similar situation in the past, when 35,000 constables were recruited, their training was conducted at training centers outside the state. This will allow the recruitment process to be streamlined and ensure that all constables receive quality training.

Medical Examination and Verification Process

After the final results were released, the board quickly moved to the next step in the recruitment process – the medical examination. Medical tests are crucial to ensure that the selected candidates are fit to serve as police constables. The medical examination will take place at the police lines of the candidate’s respective districts.

It is important to note that candidates must pass the medical examination before they can proceed with the training process. The dates for the medical exams will be notified soon through the board’s official website. This process ensures that only those candidates who meet the physical standards will be allowed to undergo the rigorous training required for police constables.

Details About the Recruitment Exam and Cut-Offs

The UP Police constable recruitment exam was held in August 2024, specifically on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th, and 31st. After the written examination, the next steps included document verification, physical standard tests (PST), and physical efficiency tests (PET). The cut-off marks for various categories were announced along with the results.

Here are the cut-off marks for different categories:

  • General category: 225.75

  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 209.26

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 216.58

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 196.17

  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 170.03

  • Freedom Fighters’ dependents: 93.44

  • Ex-servicemen: 114.44

  • Female candidates: 212.11

These cut-off marks were decided based on the overall performance in the examination and category-specific criteria.

No Waitlist for UP Police Recruitment

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has also clarified that no waiting list has been created for this recruitment drive. All selected candidates are listed based on the final result, and no further candidates will be selected from a waitlist. This ensures that only those who have cleared all stages of the examination and verification process will be called for medical testing and subsequent training.

Clarification on Caste-Based Comments

After the release of the exam results, there were certain comments made regarding the caste of successful candidates, specifically questioning whether candidates were selected based on their caste. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has addressed these concerns, stating that the recruitment process does not consider the surname or title of candidates as the basis for selection.

The board emphasized that candidates are selected based on their caste certificate, which is issued by the competent authorities. The certificates are verified by a team of officers, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Police Deputy Superintendent (DSP), who ensure that the caste certificates are authentic. Only after verifying the certificates, candidates are declared successful.

For instance, one of the successful candidates, Pankaj Pandey, has a caste certificate indicating that he belongs to the Gosai caste, which is categorized under Other Backward Classes (OBC). Similarly, another successful candidate, Shivani Upadhyay, is from the Jogee caste, which also falls under the OBC category. This clarification was made by the board to address any misunderstandings regarding caste-based selections.

The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board further clarified that before the appointment letters are issued to candidates, the district SP (Superintendent of Police) will conduct a final verification of the selected candidates. This ensures that only those candidates who have cleared all verification steps will be appointed as police constables.
